This sign made by Michelle's friend, Peggy, says it all.
We posted it right behind the food tables.
The party started with a gathering of friends in the back yard on a
delightfully warm, bordering on hot, afternoon.
~ and around the growing appetizer table.
Children came of course and Trinity (second from the left)
was the perfect young hostess. Akira hosted the ones closer to his age
but I didn't get a picture of them.
After a wonderful spread of appetizers and then two lasagnes, mac and cheese,
and cheese grits, pasta salad and a spinach salad with strawberries, it was time
to cut the cake. We sang Happy Birthday, the wind took care of blowing out the
fire on the candles that declared her 50 and she began cutting the cake. The young
people were all lined up for cake ~ and they know birthday party etiquette.
The Birthday Person gets the first piece of cake.
And then the rest of the adults can just wait their turns,
because the kids got there first!
Michelle had her piece of cake and even posed with it and
the baker, Kelly.
It was a lovely, lovely day celebrating 50 years of amazing.
Happy Birthday, my darling, and many more!
